Wow, he looks fookin terrible. And that was pretty funny. Losing my religion and Everybody hurts are the songs that I believe did this to him. It definitely wasnt Shiny Happy People......"holding hands" ha ha.

Its cool if you hate the guys music. We all have different tastes. And I didnt mean to come off like you need to do a complete background check on someone before you label them as a douchebag. But none of us have actually heard stories about Tom acting like a cocksucker (like we have with Lynch or Wylde for example). The only person saying the contrary is Simbasa. And if he's talking about the Guitar World interview where Tom talks about Chris Cornell having a solo project and not wanting to tour than Id have to politely disagree with him. Because if anything, he sounds irritated at Cornell not wanting to tour in support of the Revelations album.

I like Maynard James Keenan's vocals, but he strikes me as a pretentious twat. On the flip side, I dont like Triviums music at all but Matt Heafy seemed like a straight up nice guy who made time for his fans (from what I saw at NAMM this past year).

Even though I'm from Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas area, I gotta agree wholeheartedly with Phil Anselmo...freaking full of himself.

And yes, I'm gonna talk about a dead guitar hero that could play his ass off and I can't stand thinking about that he got shot onstage, but Dimebag Darrell Abbott. First of all, he used to go by "Diamond" Darrell until Cowboys from Hell came out. Then all of a sudden he wanted to be called "Dimebag" Darrell, tougher, scummier, fuckin' made up by himself! Anyone that nicknames themselves falls into douchedom immediately. Disclaimer-we have to nickname ourselves on this site because it's the system But that's not a touch of the reason I say this: he was a drunken fool everywhere he went and made an ass of himself in public multiple times. Not the kind of drunk that's just funny and foolish, he acted like a total dumbass and I felt embarrassed as hell for him, especially at the S.O.D. show in 2000. He got onstage and started hitting all of Charlie Banante's cymbals in the middle of the show, and Billy Milano had to tell him to get off the stage. It was down right goofy, and he looked like a guy that was way too old to be acting a fool like that. He could be very arrogant and not say shit to you if you said hello or tried to talk to him, but he himself made himself a public figure, so why the attitude? Everyone thinks he was this fun-loving, hard-drinking southerner, but that was just a public persona projected by his PR people. He was just kindof white trash, and seemed starved for attention, but he always acted like a moron to get the attention. He wasn't exactly mean, but not what the magazines portray him as. Just a typical alcoholic that you could easily see had issues, and had to cover up by being constantly drunk and constantly throwing himself into the spotlight. Plus, he over-cussed to the point of stupidity, and sounded like he had a 5th grade education. But, if he has any excuse, he can certainly use that he was drunk. Not knocking drinkers, I drink some and used to be just like Diamond Darrell myself, so I did the same shit, and it doesn't mean I don't miss his dumb ass. Big shock to the rock-n-roll world and me personally for sure.
 
Sorry to double dip, but the freakin' REM dude is way up on the list. "Yeah, me and me boyfriend do this and do that", he says in a TV interview on a late night variety show. Douched immediately there. That does it on it's own without getting into the arrogance factor!
 
Imagine being a relative nobody like most of us are, grinding out life playing in clubs for little to no pay. Your band gets a small record deal and things take off, you go from poor to having money in a short amount of time. Perhaps you make more money in one year than your family has made in the past 10. Last year no one would talk to you, now everyone loves you. Add to it, you have little education. As much as most of us would love to be "rock stars," I'll bet most of us would act like idiots too. Sudden fame and fortune are hard to handle. Look how many lottery winners end up broke.

That said, I am sure I could handle it :)

Interesting take Mike. I started thinking about what I wrote, and it still applies, but I've got a little different perspective now. I mean I don't say this to suck up, but it sickens me what happened to the guy, and I'd love to still have him here (Diamond Darrell Abbott), but the dude needed some help and not a bunch of hangers-on that encouraged him to act like an imbecile. He had alot left to give. Gotta admit, the Vulgar Video #1 has some hilarious parts. When they pop the boil on that friend of theirs' ass! OMG!!! Friggin' disgusting but hilarious nonetheless. He was all over the place around here. At every show, guitar stores, restaurants, everywhere; which was cool, but I'm not a big fan of titty bars (which he was part owner in locally and a heavy supporter of obviously) and the shit that goes down at those places. A bunch of abused, drug addicted girls and a bunch of guys that don't realize it, but are being used and abused themselves when they go there. I was a big titty bar attendee for years dude. I loved them, and I loved adult video stores, but it all gets to be an addiction eventually and it's seen for what it is: a sick and pitiful pit of depravity and fakeness. Hell, his candlelight vigil after his death was held at the titty bar he and his brother owned! If that ain't southern white trash behavior I don't know what is. All that was not his core self. That was the bullshit self he put on for attention and to live up to what the public expected of him to be. Darrell was OK, just ya know when people do something embarrassing and you feel like burying your head in the sand? That's what Darrell was like. Plus, he needed to get with Alice Cooper and do some 12-step work. I speak from experience...I was just like him without the talent, money and fame! :lol: :LOL:

I have to agree with Axel and Fred Durst. They both come off as dicks. Zakk Wylde tends to be a dick when he drinks and so does the Mr.EVH. Sober, I think they are a little more tolerable.
