A man has been jailed for sexually assaulting five goats and a lamb.
A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after he "raped" six animals, resulting in the death of one, at an animal sanctuary and educational farm in France. Known only as Massoud S, he declared himself a "normal person" to the court.
The Afghan-born asylum seeker denied all charges during the trial at the Aix-en-Provence courthouse, despite police apprehending him in the act behind a goat, wearing latex gloves.
During the Monday (June 22) hearing, he faced charges of sexual assault and serious abuse of five goats, one of which succumbed to its injuries, and a six-month-old lamb. After just one hour of deliberation, he was handed a 30-month prison sentence.
Throughout the trial, Massoud S persistently rejected the accusations despite DNA evidence being discovered and police apprehending him in the act.
He informed the court, "I'm a normal person."
A psychiatric assessment was performed during his pretrial detention, where he allegedly told a doctor that "They're making a huge fuss about it when they're just animals."
A psychiatrist reported the man suffers from no mental disorders, however, he reportedly said while talking about the rapes: “We make a big deal out of it when they’re just animals,”
“I’m a normal person,” he said when confronted with these statements in court.
He has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for charges reclassified as “abuse leading to death.” He is also banned from French territory and must register into a database for sexual offenders.
