Make an offer

"Guitarists" didn't used to be like this, though

It's literally only since COVID when all the Pitchfork/Tiny Desk hipsters converged the hobby that it became like this

Haggling was expected for guitar gear for the first 3 and a half decades of my life. Yes, once in a while there was an ad on HCAF with "price firm/no haggling" but it was definitely not the norm

It's just nonsensical to me that there's always a million posts about "the gear I post isn't selling wAHHHHHH" and i think these two things are very, very related

It kind of reminds me of this old advertisement. I don't know what Blade were thinking, as this ad is depressing.

When I sell something, I have a set price and that's why I don't use offers. But, people still send me messages with offers and it's annoying.
I agree. I don't get annoyed by it, I just don't respond to PM's when my ad states a firm price. I got burned real bad once by someone who did that to me and I learned my lesson the hard way.

I found a used one in great condition for $530, not accepting offers; final price $630.

I hope the $850 fuckwad from my OP keeps the guitar for years to come. karma.

It's not a rare guitar, it's somewhat of a project guitar for me to try a few ideas.

if I get lowballed; I take the difference between my asking price and the low offer, and add it to my price. Can't do that on reverb, but it worked on CL...haven't tried it in awhile

:D

Just got an email from the seller in my OP; said he was offline and missed the offer; said he'd accept it if I wanted to buy it.

Things happen for a reason; and I saved myself about $350 getting the used guitar vs new. only difference is the used one is missing the trem cover on the back, not a big deal...based on the pics, it looks like it was barely used.

Exactly what I suspected… That’s hilarious.. I’ve worked with one guy who damn near took a week per reply 🙄😂

geez, when I have something listed, I pay attention; I've removed listings when I was on vacation, and put them back up when I returned to make sure I didn't miss a sale

edit: like I said, this is a project guitar that I want to try a few mods; not something I usually do. I usually prefer new, but used is fine for this. I did look, the used guitar I purchased was only listed yesterday...and I got the Reverb Memorial day sale email this morning, so I looked again
