The only thing I could think of (other than him being completely detached from reality- and I in NO way mean to make fun of anyone with a mental ailment. Some people can't help it) is that it all might stem from him working at that pizza place.
Who works at pizza shops? The owner, who has his sh*t together, and a bunch of jackoffs who think ball busting and being smart with everyone is normal behavior.
It can be the only reason he is so socially awkward. He knows no better, and is used to getting away with ball busting, etc..
But in the real world ball busting often gets your teeth knocked out of your head or pisses people off to the point of not wanting to be around you..... Which being here, would be impossible for someone to properly put him in his place or avoid him altogether. So he continues the childish behavior.
When someone says to him "I have a college degree" and he turns around and makes a joke and calls that person an idiot, well.... That proves he is working with a 6 year old mentality. Hence his bringing up and/or social surroundings.
It can be the only answer... We are just dealing with a complete jackass that needs a good ass kicking... *Shrug*
