Ok Steve.......................

Lindsey Buckingham.

Well played, sir... What blows me away is watching him play some of that intricate fingerpicking acoustic stuff while singing live. I've seen Fleetwood Mac in concert a few times and that is always the highlight for me.

Steve

That is the style that blew me away when I saw it, I was like where did that just come from?!?!!?

The guys from Meshuggah.

+ A billion. Trying to learn Straws pulled at random and Future Breed Machine.

+ A billion to Joe Bonnamasa too. Serious chops and AMAZING tones. I agree with Akerfledlt (sp?) too. I'd give the L.O.G. guys a mention.

What about his amazingly sloppy playing. They were on Saturday Night Live one time and when he played the solo to "Cult of Personality" I thought Jimmy Page had taken over with his live "broken fingers" playing...

Perhaps he's been practicing... that Saturday Night Live performance was abysmal...

Steve

You are just not hearing Vernon Steve, he is sooooo outside the box that you hear Jimmy instead of Vernon.

What I heard was the dreaded "live broken fingers syndrome". Stray unintended notes, string noise, missed fretting, poor left/right hand coordination, non-existent string muting... Horrifying...

And... yes, I still suck worse... Luckily I can still judge other's playing with my ears whether I can do better or not with my hands... ;)
