Basically thats the amp I am selling now. My Rm100 is a Lynch box but black and metal grill front.
I have owned 2 Lynch boxes in the past. I love the MTS system. But I have also owned a Engl in the past and have been DYING to get one back! Had the Invader and it was incredible. High hopes for this new Fireball 100!

awsome score :D

just wish i could just order all of mine and build a small 1x12 right now bro, you have no idea
It will come. Think about it.....
If you bought it....
someone else will as well.
I just love flipping gear!

i never did this until i joined rig talk :D

Trust me.......it gets EASIER AND EASIER each time you sell to buy something else! ;)

Just my opinion, but I think the MP-1 owns the JMP-1...both sound great but the ADA just sounds a bit more natural to my ears. It gets true tube overdrive whereas the JMP-1 uses clipping diodes...not sure if that's the difference I hear but it may be.
FWIW, I've replaced my MP-1 with a Triaxis, JMP-1, Fish, Triple Giant, and many other and I've always gone back to the ADA...it's in my rack to this day (w/Mesa 2:90). That said, I just bought an Axe-FX Ultra and a FRFR monitor that I'm going to try out live soon. I won't be surprised if I go back to my old MP-1 at some point though ;)

JMP-1 uses 2 12ax7's.

ADA (at least the one i owned) sounded terrible i thought. im looking for that overdriven marshall tone from hell that krankenstein only wishes they could squeeze out of their amps. and the JMP-1 to me seems to do this a little better than the MP-1. i even installed the 3TM and didnt like it a whole lot. i never got the chance to really build a complete rack for it because of personal medical bills. but yeah, 2 12ax7's in those JMP-1s just like the MP-1s.

kinda funny you mentioned the axe-fx, the way people talk about them its the only preamp to own - will be interesting to see which you like better :D

OH MAN.........I havent thought about a MP-1 for years!
That was my TONE for about 2 years back in the early 90's!
Every Gunslinger was using the MP-1!!!

Me too! :D

Both of those preamps have two 12AX7s but I'm fairly confident that the JMP-1 also uses clipping diodes to drive them into distortion whereas the MP-1 actually smacks them with high voltage. When combined with a BBE and a good tube power amp, the ADA is tough to beat. I've heard the older ones sounded better than the later ones (they definitely sound better than the MP-2) but I never compared...mine is an older model from '88 I believe, bone stock except for upgraded NOS tubes.

I did that a long time ago, sold everything and took a break from playing for a few months. I regret it now a little bit as that rig was probably the best rig I ever had so far. VHT GP3 into a Meas 2:100 into a VHT FB 4x12. That rig was tight, articulate, and awesome. I lost a LOT of money when I did that though. I am making a huge change to my rig now too, ditching a rack setup and going with a head which I have never really done through my years of playing so it is a whole new field for me.

If you are not happy with your tone at all, maybe it is time to refresh, but unfortunately now is not the best time to sell, but it only takes one who wants it bad enough! Being unhappy with your tone makes playing very uninspiring, so sometimes a refresh is needed which is where I am at right now.

to me vito had a style all his own. i never really could learn from his style because it was just so badass - just really musical the way he added notes and chose his tapping sequences. nothing to copy there, he was just damn good at it. he really knew his way around a fret board.

i would kill right now to be able to go see vito live in white lion. that would be the end all be all show for me

what you speak of is true.

its a terrible time to sell, but a great time for anyone that can buy. but i've been chasing a tone thats in my head for so long i sorta forgot that i dont HAVE to keep what i have if im not 100% satisfied with it.

i guess my first problem was just accepting that this is one hell of a task - building a 12 space rack. and how bad i really wanted to sell everything i ever worked for to get it. and after thinking about it, i realized after 5 years of owning 5150's its time for a huge change. everyone raggedthe 5150's here, so i must be missing out on something huge.

did some research and combining everything i ever liked into one rig. hopefully everything will go smoothely, and ill be able to post soundclips here on the forum by christmass

I learned SOOOO MUCH from Vito riffs/Licks. That guy did it all and TASTEFUL!
If you learn "WAIT" it will open up ALOT of doors for you music wise.
I still incorporate little smidgens of that song into the shit we play today!

i may have to take a break from my power metal/progressive metal influences for a sec, and go back to my white lion days. i bet i could soak it up and really give some diversity to my playing

tasteful is exactly what i would call vito's playing - really sucks he doesnt even like music anymore. he was the quiet type from what i could tell or get out of him.

cool guy, ive got him on my myspace. so if he ever decides to go back on tour, im sure he'll let everyone know

Have you plugged into a JMP 1 ..... if you have not I would before you sell your rig.

I completely agree. I had one that I ran into a 2:100 and it blew goats. Honestly, I got ONE decent tone, ONE, DECENT, TONE. It is a terrible preamp IMO. I know someone that has (or had) a voodoo JMP-1, and he said that had like two or three good tones in it instead of one.
