This isn’t one you guys right ?

I always go 4x12, one 4x12
That’s all I ever used, tho my buddy stores a 2x12 orange ppc I currently use as an end table.. no disrespect. I’m just out of space..

depends on which 4x12 and which 2x12, and for what purpose?

If you're playing in a funk covers band im sure the 2x12 is fine

If you're playing in a metal band that's big enough to have good sound reinforcement all the time i'm sure it's fine too

But most of the time if you're playing rock/metal/punk you're best served with a 4x12

In a recording situation, it also depends on the genre and tone you're going for, but you're generally only micing one speaker at a time so it isn't as big of a deal

Normally people have a single "favorite" speaker that they mic whether its a 4x12,2x12, 1x12, or 8x12
I figured that was the case typically 1 favored speaker at a time, but my suspicion is the resonance from the cab may play a part in the tone during recording for a secondary mic placed further back? Idk wasn’t sure if 2x12 provided any benefit in a certain frequency spectrum..

I have never had interest in 2x12s. It seems weird to me
Talking high gain metal- This is my bias, & I know it’s not right.. I just can’t help but look at a 2x12 & feel like I’m experiencing a botched circumcision..

Am I ever?
Touché.. you had me… 🤣

It's funny because you can always tell the "i just started doing this" guitarists with their gigantic 2' by 4' pedalboards with the three strymons and 5 different fuzz pedals, and the "i literally have been doing this for decades" guitarists because they will have the most streamlined, idiotproof rigs imaginable
This is why I have a chunk of velcro on top of my amp for a basic one overdrive pedal arrangement....in the case of the tiny venue/postage stamp stage. A couple times I watched the next guitarist have to set up on the dance floor cause he had about 20 pedals on a board, lol.

I just set my pedalboard on top of my amp if that happens

Honestly it's only happened once though

I would rather take up that real estate with glass and iron than BOOTEEEK fuzz pedals
