That's bad-ass and creepy at the same time!! When it started slipping and sliding on the ice I laughed hysterically to the point of almost crying!! :hys:

It's definitely creepy because it's so lifelike in the motions.

exactly, which is probably why it works so well too. I had seen a video of this where someone kicked it, but this was the first time I saw it slipping on ice. It's reaction was SO organic. If it had been an actual dog it would have been on america's funniest home videos back in the early 90s.

Man will no longer need a wife. I like it. :D

At least in Iraq. Sorta looked like a camel to me...

Are you inferring it needs to look like a sheep for the U.S. freaks?

I kinda felt sorry for it when that guy kicked it. That's the creepy part. It was so realistic that it looked like a guy kicking a baby horse or something.

I want a tag!!

You must be at least as geeky as I am... ;)

That's pretty impressive. I couldn't imagine how many algorithms need to be mutually fine-tuned to get all those sensors and limbs to work together. I've seen some animation videos about virtual creatures learning how to move by themselves according to their physical properties and constraints of their environment. When this thing walks over the ice and it has to swing one side wide to stay up, the legs on the other side anticipate and compensate for the swing back. That sort of anticipation must have been hard to program. It would be extremely interesting (and probably easier in the long run) if these machines would contain the A.I. to figure out for themselves how to move and deal with situations they encounter.

I didn't read anything in that article, but I assumed that this creepy thing was intelligent enough to figure out how to maintain balance on it's own. I mean, it does sound like real AI to me. Like it's "smart" or whatever.

I think all A.I. technology and research should be banned.. Last thing we need is a group of synthetics with a collective A.I that gains self awareness and soon wages war on us.. and then helps to bring about sentient synthetics to wipe out organic life from the galaxy..
