Thoughts on Les Paul Studios?

Not even going to lie, my number 1 guitar is a Studio, I've owned $3,600.00 Les Paul Customs, and I still come back to my studio, sounds incredible, live AND recorded, and it's not a ridiculously overpriced guitar so I feel less bad when I knock shit over with it on stage, she's definitely my baby.

Mine is all mahogany with a rosewood neck, loaded with a JB/'59.

Just my 2 cents man, I say go for it!

Yeah--I say yes--I had a faded a while back that was awesome and I wish I would have never sold it. I now have one of the newer Raw Power models with the maple fret board and again, sounds great, plays great, just love it, especially the price tag.

Hook up!

Well....

I bit the bullet on this one today.

I saw an ok Red Wine Studio (gold hardware) for sale today and decided to pick it up. (it looked great in the pictures, was told it was barely played, then when I got there, there were dings on the back, from belt buckle type stuff, but everything else was ok, so I decided to go ahead and take it anyway. f*king liars).

Brought it home, stripped it down, cleaned it up, changed the strings (supposedly, still the originals were on there), lemon oiled the fretboard, polished it up, and made some minor adjustments (still need to finish intonating it tho. ran out of time...)

First thoughts...

I'm not sure which pickups are in there...but they didn't sound like 498t's to me. Perhaps Burstbucker Pro's? It's an '07 or '08. Very fast and aggressive.
Definitely chambered.
I'm going to give it a chance. the guitar is light. but I truly don't like what it does to the bottom end of the tone. makes the bass big and soft, not as tight as I typically like in my 9+lb solid guitars.

taking it to band practice tonight, will see how it goes...
