I have a couple of TC Toneprint pedals and beaming your settings to your phone is a really clever concept. And best of all, it actually works pretty reliably.

It reminds me a lot of trying to play a magnetic tape game through your boombox and hearing a huge amount of digital static-y noises. Your phone makes the same kind of noises from its loudspeaker when your beaming the settings into your guitar. Almost certainly uses the exact same kind of technology as that.
