There's only so much you can do with it, I suppose it was like "ya, whatever, this could be cool, I'll play it... whatever", it wasn't a "career defining moment", know what I mean? He's not a fan of the US political engine, he's not a fan of the US overall, and it's a f*ckin' wrestling event!!

I mean, this is NOT the place to exhibit one's immense and incredible discipline and craft :lol: :LOL:

Notes are notes....you cant make different notes (sour notes) where there are exact notes in a song. Play the notes and add some 'flavor' is fine...but play the actual notes in key with the original song. Make sense? :confused:

fwiw I like Tool and am not a hater at all....and that pic is awesome! :lol: :LOL: :thumbsup:

I like what he did...sounded like Adam. I'm not disappointed in it at all. People always talk about what if Adam did this and did that in the context of a Tool song...wouldn't be Tool if he did it any other way. Same goes for his take on the Anthem...he did what he wanted and I liked it. Lots of people liked it. Lots didn't. At the end of the day who cares...he did what he was supposed to do and it's over now.

I don't think anyone is being buthurt or harsh in this thread apart from the people saying "look at all the butthurt" etc.

I love Tool, I didn't love this. It's just an opinion. To me it was random riffing, anthem played with some hastily recovered mistakes, bit more random riffing, explosion.

And it was in D.
 
I'm over 40, not much of a Tool fan or Metal for that matter. I thought that VH4 sounded badass! :rock:

I mean, it wasn't like, as bad as this: :lol: :LOL:

 
I'm over 40, as is Adam Jones and a host of other killer axemen...

The amp crushed, the style was sick, and the pop from the audience was choice. As mentioned before, certainly NOT a career defining moment for AJ, nor would he think it was. Just another cool opportunity that he took part in. It's all good.
 
Was pointed out from a bud of mine that this is one of the only times you'll ever hear Adam without any other instruments...so it's a good spotlight on tone. Granted he wasn't using the Blueface or his Marshall...but it's still an insight into how he would run just a VH4. I thought the tone was great and classically Adam.

Ok....so just because someone has sold millions of records, we are are not allowed to critique their performance? LOL


Everything was horrible...timing, phrasing and most of all CLAMS. He should have played that much cleaner.





I do like TOOL, but my opinion of this song isn't blinded by that.
