I'm itching for one and I think I'll have about 1000 bucks to play with once I sell one of these guitars I have in the classifieds.

Schecter V-1?
Epiphone Prophecy?
The new Epiphone Futura? I kinda hate buying new guitars, so I'm not sure if the Futura is for me, but I love the specs.
Epi Kirk Hammett? I absolutely LOVE the purple sparkle.
Look out for some cool MiJ Edwards or Burny?
What Jacksons should I be looking at?
Wtf is this Iron Label Silverburst V?

Finish is important to me. I'll do black and white, but prefer blue, green, blue, sparkle, metallic, etc. For example, the Schecter V-1, Prophecy, and Kirk Hammett all come in either trans purple, or sparkle. I love that.

Look at the Dave Mustaine Custom Epiphone. Killer guitar for the price. Black metallic flake/sparkle. Thrashfactor pickups which are very much a JB but tighter. Comes with a case too. Mine is flawless. Neck is not super thin either. More like a Gibson 60s. I got mine in August from Sweetwater for the previous price before the $300 increase. (Thank you Guitar center for leaving the old price up when it should have been the increased one).

The Jackson KVTMG above is pretty decent too but the hardware is crap. Jackson locking tuners would break strings and the metal used on the bridge is soft. I already replaced the locking tuners with Gotohs. Going to replace the bridge at some point but don't know what would be a direct fit. It doesn't come with a case. Neck is like Gibson 60s. Frets are jumbo. I had a USA KV2 and the neck was small, thin along with the frets. I didn't bond with it.

Haha you and I are on the same wavelength today. I spent 80% of my free time looking at Vs and 20% practicing. I finally stopped looking an hour ago and practiced again. I took a break from practicing and this thread is the first thing I see!

I have some big time back issues and I'm thinking the V seated will help me sit less hunched over my les pauls. How is that for justifying a purchase?

Whatcha been leaning toward? What's caught your eye?

If it were me, I would be getting the Jackson Pro or Pro PLus series Rhoads. I know its a little more than the 1,000 budget, but I would trade a couple of random pedals or something into GC and get the extra 10% off from trade in.

You and @Frehley12 both recommended a Jackson. For some reason, I never gravitate toward them when looking at guitars. Why them over LTD, Schecter, Epiphone, etc?
Feel free to be rude cause I'm ignorant as fuck here. Thanks!

I'm a Gibson/Epi guy. I have 1 LP studio and 2 LP Epis that I've gutted and installed decent electronics in. I bought a 70s tribute pickup off another RT brother and I'm thinking it would be a good fit in a V.

The KH Epi bridge is intersting as it looks like it might offer more travel than the standard bridge. My 2 Epis have at least one saddle maxed.

The DM Epi with the thrash factor pickups looks nice also. I really like the jack location on that one.

The standard 70s Epi looks appealing also.

Gibson/Epi fanboy over here too. The Epi KH in purple sparkle speaks to me because of the finish, pickups, and hard case included.
What tuning are you using that you're this concerned with bridge travel? Pardon my ignorance here, I just don't know what bridge saddle travel means at the end of the day.
