UPDATE 57/66 Thicker sounding active bridge

So first impressions of the 57/66 combo in the mahogany/maple LTD Horizon is GOOD....

The 57 gives me the additional, deep lowend chunk...nice highs and a very syrupy, wide sounding midrange crunch.
It tracks just as fast as the replaced 81. All while having more of a passive feel. The 81 feels hifi and sounds narrower in comparison. (Still love it tho)
The 66 is loud, warm, nice chime...lively. Not much time there yet.

Wonder how a 57/66 sounds compared to the fishman modern active voicing?

D-Rock. I posted earlier about running an 85 at 18v. I did this and also added the EMG SPC tone control. Absolutely killer combination for an active pickup. I am sure there are other combinations, but this definitely works for me.

Haven't tried the Fishman, but from clips I don't think they're too far off. Fishman might have more clarity..?

If than anything I think it would be more of a "feel" thing... which is harder to translate in words IMO.
