VHT/Fryette Pitbull/Sig X vs Mesa Mk Series amps

I love the Mark series and saw them as my holy grail for a while, but VHT/Fryette has been my favourite amp since I took a chance and bought the Sig:X (without hearing it in person first). I have since bought an Ultralead and I now regard it as my favourite amp. It's so tight and articulate. I can understand why some people saying they sound dry though.
