What’s this big PanterA announcement about tomorrow??

I had tickets to one of these shows but after seeing zakk play these songs I didn’t go .idk . His soling is the worst I’ve heard from him. It’s thst bizarre. I’d be ok hearing them write some music of their own now. But I guess I just don’t care about the live show

Exactly. I saw them live twice and they were a force of nature. If you haven't watched this concert on YouTube, you're missing out. Very good sound. The video of the band gets better 1 minute into the clip. I was at this show and Pantera tore us all new assholes that night, to put it mildly. They were SO tight but raw at the same time. Amazing. They opened for Black Sabbath. They truly were one of the GOAT bands. Enjoy!

Man they were tight. I mean Phil comes and goes but the brothers are so dialed in. I always hated those clicky clacky bass drums but in context of the music, they just worked.

I would have thought the first few shows sure.. a bit of play. But it sounds like he has just said screw it on most of the solos and ignores a lot of the most important parts. Yes I know he has said Dime wouldn't play No More Tears like Zakk would but I still think he would capture the essence of it a whole lot more than Zakk is doing with his leads.

Pantera reunion with a Dimebag and Vinnie hologram at that Las Vegas Eye thing

I went to that one, great show

All joking aside, that would be a huge mistake. I'm waiting for the new Anthrax album and tour so Charlie needs to get back into the studio.

I’ve never heard zakk doind so bad when he shreds fast . It’s not even clean or anything. No phrasing . I wonder if it’s just too fast and chaotic to solo over for him ? I love zakk . But never have heard him plsy so bad

You are right.. I think he is just filling space a lot of time so he just picks the pentatonics as fast he can with the squealies and some aggresive vibrato and hopes for the best.

I saw em open for Black Sabbath. Loved it. They kicked ass.
Then saw Dime get down on the floor right in front of the stage to watch Sabbath when they came on.

He's too sober, not lubed and loose enough.

With ya on that one. Anthrax has been great with Joey back. I do miss Rob Caggiano tho. His leads really added something to the songs.

We originally had seats behind the stage. It was really cool because I had a bird's eye view of Vinnie doing his thing. His tech was headbanging and jumping around like a monkey during the songs. It was hilarious! Then an usher walked up to us and we were told we couldn't sit there, supposedly because of pyro. Hmmm. Anyway, the show was sold out, so I ended up standing next to the soundboard. When Sabbath started their set, I saw a blur run in front of me. (Turns out it was Rex.) I looked to my right and there was Sharon Osbourne, Vinnie, Rex and Dime. Dime had a huge grin on his face. James, Kirk and Lars were at the light board. Kirk was playing air guitar. This was in San Jose and Metallica is a Bay Area band so it wasn't unusual to see them at local shows.
