To the first Question "Which is more important guitar or Amp ?" That's easy its the Amp.

To the second question "which has more spirit or Vibe ?" For me its the Guitar.
Nailed it.

To me the amp, but that isn't to say that I don't like my guitars. It's just that I can buy a used 80's or 90's super strat for 400-700 and change out the pickups and have a great guitar.

Another analogy is in the early 2000's when Nu Metal was popular, you have some kid playing a $300 schecter through a dual rec and it would sound massive, even if the music was shit.

Go to a music shop and plug a $4000 Les Paul into a $500 Crate half stack. Then go grab a $500 Les Paul copy and plug it into Friedman, Soldano, Diezel, Mesa, etc...half stack. You'll immediately hear the answer.

I'd even go so far as agreeing with the diminishing returns mentioned above as guitars go up in price. Take a $300 used Les Paul copy and drop about $200 in upgraded electronics in it. I'd bet in a blind test - live or on record - you'd find no one that would be able to consistently distinguish between it and a guitar that costs 10 times more.

I think nice guitars are for comfort and looks. most guitars can be setup properly to hold a tuning and you can easily swap out pickups.

I don't think you can rebound as easily from a crappy amp.

Ok, I'll add this to the mix. (Note,I already said the amp is more important to me)

Many of the less desirable amps out there have a decent clean, they just lack the good gain channels most of us desire as much as we do a hot dinner. But damned if there aren't lots of good gain pedals out there, and fairly inexpensive ones at that. The clips I hear of the Freidman pedal got me by the short hairs.

Ok now that we have more then established it's wiser to spend more money on the amp then on the guitar. Which of the 2 items gives you a feel good hell yes vibe and which do you draw more influence from? Do you think a guy like Eddie or Kirk Hammett get a vibe from a awesome amp or a cherished guitar?

Well, they change guitars like a mofo during a gig, but stick with one amp all night.

Yes.

If anything is shitty in the signal chain from the player to the listener's ears, it will likely be shitty. (listeners may also be shitty)

IMO
