I went to a GC in Houston one day to return a Dunlop Wah pedal. They claimed they didn't have it in their system and the serial number didn't match any of their inventory. I proceeded to raise hell about it and it happens that they had the guitar chops contest going on there. So to shut me up they gave me full store credit. I walked out with some other merchandise and was happy. Turns out two days later I was cleaning out my glove box in my Camaro and found a receipt for the wah pedal and it turns out I bought it from Rockin Robin Guitars!! LMFAO..

That's pretty crappy to do even if it is Guitar Center.

Mine happened yesterday at guitar center braintree, although Ive heard many this one for some reason takes the cake
me: Hey man, can I check out that lp through the 6505(head)
gc: not that one man,its not plugged in
me: ok? what have you got
gc: we have one of the 112 combos
me: o,the little made in china one huh
gc: All Peavey's are made in china
me: (pointing to the head) UM that is made in the usa as are most of their amps. Just the 112 6505 and valve king amps are over seas
gc: I don't think so man(looks behind the head) O damn, this is made in the usa
me: (turns and just walks away)

The combo sounds NOTHING like the head, nothing like it.
It shouldn't even have the same name it's so different.

I wish Peavey would make a half power 6505+ and drop that crazy price.
That would SELL. If I could get a half power 6505+ for around $800, that would be a great deal.

A couple months ago Guitar Center was discounting new 6505+'s NEW for $899!
I should have snagged one.

EVH 5150's can be had in the mini version for a decent price.
Recently I was quoted $805 for new 5150 III 50 watt.
I'm seriously considering getting one.
I'm heading to one of the Chicago city GC's to try it out again.
It's the only GC in the area that has them in the store to try out.

I honestly thought that I purchased the pedal from GC...

I think I know who told you that. :D

"All Mesa Boogie amps sound the same. So this recto will sound just like the Mark IV you're looking for."

About two months ago I was looking at a used Dual Recto. Went it fire it up and noticed that it was missing one of the 6L6s. I asked the sales rep if they could put a tube in it so I could try it. He told me that if they put a tube in the amp, they would have to charge me for a set of tubes. I asked him how I was supposed to make sure the amp actually worked without a full set of tubes in it. He told me if I wanted to play the amp with the missing tube replaced that I would have to buy the tubes. And if he replaced the missing tube he would have to charge me the "new" price for the amp as it wouldn't be a used piece anymore. I turned around and walked out of the store. I haven't been back since.

That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. I wouldn't go back either.

You should've returned the stuff you got on credit then or at least went back and paid for it. It would've been the honest thing to do, IMHO.

Well, if you're wanting to be honest, then return the credit that wasn't yours to begin with.
Just say'in.

Screw GC. They've been screwing EVERYONE for years ! Thanks Mitt Romney & Co. !

"Don't worry I'm not recording"......three years later I'm still getting a check for 16 cents from a something called "lemon party"

Me to female worker at guitar center "What the difference between the Bogner blue and Boger red pedals?"

Worker " Ummm nothing, I think they are just different colors"

I couldn't help myself. Told her she was wrong. Then she asked if I was sure.? So I put her on blast and I asked for her manager. Told him his "sale person" is barely qualified to sell shit to a toilet and walked out.

That's f@cked up. You already knew the answer. Since the young underpaid & under trained sales force couldn't answer a question you decide to attack their job? Those issues are upper management, not the 19 yr old you just sent home crying

I'd say you're the one that was wrong. Not everyone that works at GC knows about high gain stomp boxes. Her manager probably just told her that you have a serious case of the No Pussy Blues and for her not to take it personally.
