What is Your Ultimate Amp Setup?

I can fit two lunchboxes in the same space as a 100w Marshall Super Lead, and get tube saturation at a little lower volume, so I take advantage of the economy of space. That's not all. I just like the sound and features of those amps. As for your playing, I respond accordingly. It wasn't my intention to get into it with you and trade insults, but I stand my ground when necessary. If you'd like to move past it all, then I'm down for that. I'd rather talk about something more interesting like playing and gear.

So, now it's not about the low-wattage, it's about 'form factor'/footprint? In my defense, not being a psychic, I could only go by what you actually wrote, not what you meant to write instead. Relax, just ribbing you.

Also, if you can get 2 lunchbox amps in the 'same' space as your Marshall, you aren't saving space. You are taking up exactly the same amount, but now have to mic and sound check 2 amps instead of 1. Just saying...

Tube saturation hasn't been an issue for me since the late 70's, when I learned how to LOAD down and Re-amp loud amps. I note that there isn't that much of a volume difference between a 50 or a 100 watt amp, but acknowledge that they do have a different tone-- but THAT is a TOTALLY different issue. The main difference is the CLEAN head room, from my perspective-- separate from tone voicing issues.

Sound and Features are a TOTALLY legit consideration and the 50 vs 100 has a noticeable tone difference to me, as do the 1 Watt vs 15 Watters vs the 20-40 Watters.

As far as I go, I have my youth and have been extremely successful. I have a collection of degrees undergrad and post grad. Made good investments at the right time, own my house outright and own some other real estate. I am doing perfectly fine. I work 10-15 hours a week and don't need to do more. I log an average of 10-14 hours a week playing music and have a lovely life. I can't ask for more. I have certain affections but I do what I want and spend time with my daughter who is a sweet untainted and happy little girl.

I don't take forums so seriously, obviously you are unable to handle disagreements and realize that some are far more experienced than you.

I know ALL of them personally, and have played through, and/or own/have owned many of their products personally in my collection, referred them business, and recommended their products-- resulting in the purchase of LOTS of their amps by customers, friends and associates. Being that this is the year of the ultimate lower wattage amps, I am currently replacing my entire setup. No more Kemper, which I still love and adore though. Now it's Mini Amp + Suhr IR. This is the setup I'm starting to build.

I'm just wondering how 5 different low watt heads constitutes A RIG. Are you using them all at the same time and switching back and forth? What about the rest of your "rig"?

To me "rig" would mean a setup that you can gig with. Usually one amp (sometimes two I guess if you like dragging around extra gear), a cab, pedal board or multi effects unit. Of course there can be variations on the theme with a combo amp instead of head and cab, or a rack system.

In this case it seems like "rig" means "my entire collection of shit".
