I just picked one up locally out of curiousity. It has a silver front. Mosty that I've seen for sale have the black fronts. What's the the good bad and ugly?
I used a 20/20 for a few years in my rig and I loved it. It did have a problem when I first got it, that was quickly repaired by Mesa and I never had another issue of any kind. Sounded great and was plenty powerful for club gigs and keeping up with a loud rock drummer. I think I used a Marshall JMP-1 with mine. Been a long time so I cant get into more detail but I'd buy another without reservation. Nice piece.
I had one for a few months awhile back, I was using it as a gigging power amp with a JMP-1. I really liked it a lot. Pretty damn loud. I will say in that 3-5 month span, I burned through the EL84's pretty quick...but I had it cranked pretty hard.
Thanks guys. I really was just trying to get a little info. My rig is pretty simple and am not looking to change. Just picked it up at a pretty good price but I'm probably going to unload it and pick something else up. Thinking seriously about the Randall Diavlo RD 45.
Yup, very easy to do and totally worth doing. I found it with Google in 5 minutes.
Side note: you can still get a replacement front control plate if needed, but in black only...and you need to make sure your 20/20 is the last production version or you'll have to get creative with screw alignment.
