Skid Rows first album had me in a chokehold for several summers way back in the 80s as a junior high student. Then Slave to the grind came out and i played the shit out of that album. I still give them both a listen thru periodically, I think as a hard rock hair band, they stood out amongst all the other goofy shit that was out at the time.

Inlet was constant from 2020-2023, especially “In the Den,” “Step Into You,” and “Folding.” The whole album is perfect. Glad they found a new drummer after their loss and are playing live again.

I fell pretty hard for Korn back in the day as a teenager going through high school. My parents would let me listen to hard music so I had a CD rip that I'd listen to on my Walkman, first few songs - bliss, about halfway through the thing started skipping like a mofo. It wasn't until much later I listened to the album digitally and realized how much of the album I had missed out on

When I was 10 or 11 I used to dub music off radio stations when songs that seemed cool came on. I had AC/DC ride on. I still love that song as from the moment I heard it. It still hits even for a blues player. I had Mitch Ryder, devil in a blue dress and takin care of business, lol, but tbh can't remember what else. Maybe a couple cassettes worth but ride on was easily the best tune after which I modeled my entire life around the same basic distorted blues format.

TLDR: Listening to AC/DC wrecked my life.

Oh yeah Dirt!! Simultaneously with being a young Airman in the early 90s, I dove headfirst into AIC and all of that other amazing music coming out. I just finished Kim Thail's autobiography and was cool seeing how all of those bands just started taking off.
