For full 3 channels amps, the herbert has to be one of the best overall.
The fryette Sig X is quite awesome as well.

For 2.5 channel amps, there are so many, hard to pick.

I'm OK with RHY2. I used it yesterday at a outdoor gig.

I found a balance that let's me use all modes on the FU-3. It's about how I use the GEQ with my band. The punch and thump.
RHY1 - clean
RHY2 - vintage crunch
LEAD - midrange lead
LDEQ - modern crunch

I like the V. But the poweramp voice is pretty different. The IV is unique. Nothing else in the Mark family is that voice. Obviously subjective I find the IV fits me best of any of the Mark series. It's the Mid-Gain voice. This was the original prototype for the Rectifier series. No other amp does this sound.

The Sig X rhythm channel is kind of similar to the Deliverance voice. The lead channel is kind of similar to the Pittbull voice.
I have not done it yet but GPDI-IR can add a channel to any amp with a effects loop.
With the Mark IV I should be able to get close the Sig X rhythm voice. The Mark GEQ is available doing this. More than curious of what it can do.

Having said that the Sig X rhythm channel is the voice I have used the most since 2008. It covers the entire vintage/modern thing. I could do any gig with just that channel.

As long as there are 3 different eq sections and 3 distinct tones / levels of gain that can easily be toggled through via footswitch, then I consider it 3 channels for all intents and purposes

Yeah, based on all the comments on this forum where people preferred the small Mark V:25 and V:35 over the big V, I'd probably pass on the V and go for the VII as well, seeing that I already own the V:25.

@stephen sawall agreed on the Sig:X rhythm channel; that channel alone can cover sooooo much ground. I just wanted a bit more Fender/Mesa Mark flavour for cleans (Sig:X was more Hiwatt probably) and the lead channel was a bit stiff and dry for my taste (more Engl and Mesa Mark leads wanted...that liquidy compressed stuff), that's why I eventually sold my Sig:X. But man, that Rhythm channel....

For me it's the JP2C. It can go from clean and with 2 high gain distortion channels with independent eq's. All 3 channels sound great. Also some of the top amps I've tried are the 5150iii Stealth, BE100dlx, and Boger XTC all I thought were awesome as well.
