What's your next amp / guitar / pedal?

New Haven? I purchased my first real guitar there (brand new '78 Gibson Les Paul Custom) when I was a kid; my guitar teacher worked there. The day I was looking at guitars to buy, Paul Stanley showed up.

My guitar teach asked if knew who he was, I said no; he said that's Paul Stanley from Kiss, you want to meet him? I said yes (was and still into Kiss); I had a guitar in my hand when my teacher introduced me to Paul who was clearly in a hurry, he picked out several guitars - I recall Brian asking him if he wanted them shipped to the "usual place", and Paul said yes. Then Paul asked me if I liked Kiss, I said yes, he asked what was my favorite Kiss song, I said Hotter than Hell, he reached for the guitar I had in my hand and showed me the riffs, handed the guitar back to me and left.

A few years later I found a used '68 Ric 4001 bass black at Brian's, with the checkerboard binding - the only guitar I regret selling.

That's an awesome story! Paul always seems like a down to earth guy in interviews.

Different Brian's Guitars believe it or not. Interesting that there were two major "Brian's Guitars" in CT over the years. The current store is a massive prs private stock dealer. They're located in Chesire.

No new amps on the horizon for me.

Did pull the trigger on a new guitar build: roasted hard ash Franky body from Locke and 'all the bells and whistles' Frank neck from Musikraft (AAA Birdseye, '78 headstock, rosewood dots, brass side markers, SS frets). 6-screw trem from Wudtone. Got a few pups to audition once the parts all arrive and the assembly and set up is complete.

Next pedal? I'm pretty sure I will pull the trigger on a JEL-IR pedal once a few clean examples make it to the 'previously enjoyed' market. Hopefully by Christmas - that would make for a few fun afternoons between Christmas and New Years when I traditionally schedule myself out of the office.

Amp: Ground Zero MOAB or Sniper mod
Guitar: Happy with my current stable but maybe a 7-string one day
Pedal: I'll probably bite on the Fractal VP4
