I don't know what it is with Mesa Boogie demos and reviews but when I played the 50w Badlander, it didn't sound as shrill and sterile like a lot of them. I was quite impressed with the 50w Badlander. It also seemed to defy the idea of being more 'modern sounding' in the sense of sounding hi-fi and less organic. To me, the description of sounding more modern seems to have a lot to do with the low end, clarity, and usability of the controls
I haven't played the 25 but have been thinking about getting one because it seems to have solved a couple of things I didn't like about the Mini Rectifier 25. From what I can make out, the clean channel sounds a little better and more dynamic - which is saying a lot because the Mini Rect has a fantastic and versatile clean channel.
Anyway, I'd like to hear from some owners or others who've spent some time with the Badlander 25 specifically. Also, if anyone has seen a demo that gives a better impression of what it sounds like in person then I'd like to see it because a lot of videos on the Badlander 50 seem to defy my own experience with it. Let me know what you guys think.
