The discussion seems to have turned around into a "do you respect goy people?" While I definitely think they shouldn't be physically abused or ostracised, I do feel uncomfortable around them.
Just look at the word they throw at you if you crack a harmless joke. Homophobia. That literally means a fear of homosexuality, and as we all know, fear can be irrational and I admit that I'll probably be on the wrong side of history as we are all subsumed into a culture where we fear speaking up or voicing our own insecurities.
I also don't have homosexual friends, I suppose I do not fit into their way of life. But I don't actively go seeking to attack and hurt their pride.
I mean, being afraid of a shark seems logical. Nasty mean old shark is going to bite off your leg, bite through your torso. Brrrrrr, scary.
What's a homo going to do? I have no idea. Is he going to hold my hand and send me flowers? I know, completely irrational, but I have no way of knowing.
The thread wasn't meant to deteriorate into an us and them. I had a completely different idea in mind: the 1984-ish removal of words from our vocabulary through force..
What force? By people who think that someone using a word that has been around for a long time are deserving of being cancelled and otherwise harassed, sometimes through actual violence.
In that regard, I sure see a lot of black people using the N-word at themselves. I too identify as black, though I don't throw that word around lightly. However, why should the word be the exclusive privilege of people who don't see it as a cuss word when used on themselves.
Please note, I am not saying the N-word should be normalised. But if a certain demographic category can be subjected to hate speech laws and cancel culture for its use, the law needs to be applied equally.
Back on the word "goy", why can't we call a spade a spade? The word "fag" even has a long history, where British senior school boys would ask their juniors (or fags) to fetch their slippers.
Probably a bit too much buggery under the bridge to let that word go now.

Holy heck. Well I'm sorry I got roped into a fight with the "freedom" of speech/ anti butt sex crowd.
Having just spent all weekend going to the beach and swimming in the Gulf where there's been a few shark encounters recently, I can tell you it's not entirely irrational to fear them. However its easy to get carried away in that paranoia when the much much more likely unpleasant encounter will be with a jellyfish. Those things will FUCK U UP! And u won't even see it coming.
