I'm going to agree with the other guys who are talking about Mike Morin mods as being what Diglio was using on this album. It was kind of common knowledge locally that Diglio was using the Morin stuff on that record. I had a friend that had a Morin modded Marshall and also had that blue Morin preamp guys are referring to.

My Henning Cherry Bomb gets it without a boost as well... Here is a bit of Curt (Chubtone) noodling like that "Face Down In The Gutter" intro:

I asked Morin about it on Facebook the other day...he didn't answer. He has a Morin Amplification page on FB... Wolf Marshall's account seems plausible, it even says the red Charvel pre-pro had a PRS pick up in it which would make sense if Diglio was going for an EVH vibe as some PRS pick ups are very PAFish. and of course the Jose angle would be total EVH...

That tone is totally Jose modded Marshall. My Jose nails that tone, even without a boost.

Thanks! My custom transformers have 240V taps, so I can make them for UK folks if someone wants one...
