Just wow... I am full blown stoked on this amp!
It just came in and does she SCREAM...
I bought this pristine beauty directly from a very long time Mesa Boogie employee who had this rectifer built for his personal stash in the custom shop in late 2007 (most likely by all his friends).
He kept it in his home recording studio in a stable of mesa amps and used it very minimally. It is dead mint.
It has the now discontinued chrome chassis and a killer brand new headshell with the black diamond plate, almost $400 in upgrades.
It even has a blue LED for the clean channel to match the blue jewel light instead of the ususal green LEd for the clean channel too
I have to assume the techs really hooked him up some where during the build process as this thing sounds stupid good and cannot say enough about how fricking killer this amp is tone wise.
It Smokes my 1998 Triple Rec and that is a huge statment there, this might be the best Mesa I have ever owned in my life.
It has a ton of tight and creamy smooth gain that I have never heard from a a dual rec. Like almost too much gain... very sooooooooth and not harsh at all.
He shipped it to me packed as an amp should be (like a brick poop house) directly from Mesa and it arrived in 100% perfect condition all in Mesa factory sealed boxes.
It came with all the covers, footswitch, etc. and this dude was so flipping cool that he even hooked me up with a FREE extra full set of new Mesa power and rectifer tubes and personally transferred the remainder of the warrenty into my name right at the factory.
