Nice!! One of these came into the local shop on a trade in. It sounded mean!

I tried explaining this to Danno and a couple other cats here at RT.

Ya, it's "mean" and evil sounding. Sinister. Dark and wicked. I've never really had an amp that sounded quite so wicked before. Kinda like if Satan played a high-gainer (as everyone knows he's a Two-Rock kinda cat), he'd likely want this sound.

It's evil.

And I like it. But I'm so itchin' to get some bottles put into it!! :doh:

Congrats, Rev2's are awesome. Love mine, it's going nowhere.

Don't know if you've picked up on it yet, but start at lower Master volume settings and start turning it up. You'll find a sweet spot where the amp starts to compress and gets massive sounding. With my settings that starts happening around 10:00.

Using those tubes I recommended here are my stage settings, played through my Mesa Recto 4x12 V30 cabs, sometime I run the Master straight up 12:00 depending on the venue;

I run the Gain between 12:00-1:00 for rhythm and using my Timmy pedal set totally clean to boost it back up to 3:00 for solos.

Here's my CH1 settings, sounds really good.

Thanks so much DbU, ya man learning a lot of things about this amp. Channel 2 is big...as in, mild to wild with very little mucking around on the EQ. I got into the master last night, up to 11-12 on the MV and channel to taste. It was a bit absurd for 11pm at night in a small mountain neighborhood :lol: :LOL:

I'm loving the "depth" of the tone. Not bass and lowend, but the depth of the tone - the notes - the thickness. It's so rich. Couldn't help but play some old AIC riffs last night - and interestingly enough, sounded "right" there on many runs. I love it - and this all while playing through a Fryette D412 (it's the lightest cabinet I own, and use it as my get around cab while the heavies have been boxed and packed away). Can't wait to open 'er up with the UberKab.

It's the most "3-D" amp I own. Very organic, very big, just perfect. It's one of few amps where I can go from rhythm to lead playing and not have to adjust the EQ. The guitar just sits right where it needs to in the sound. I run EMG 81/85 or 81/SA pickups in most of my guitars and it kills.

Couldn't get along with the rev 2, loved the twin jet though, congrats!

See what i can do with my iphone later today/tonight. Won't be very representative, and mind, the thing needs a good cab and new bottles. But i'm not back tracking - this amp rips.
