Of course they do. Even some priests do it and others clearly allude to it. How large is your Orthodox church that you currently attend and how many Orthodox people have you met in your life?
I'm done discussing that. You're making an accusation that does not hold up to the theology of the orthodox church. It's an impression YOU have gotten as an outsider, not one you have any internal understanding of as a baptized member.

The priests were already ordained at the time of Christ, by Christ. Not much hard to understand about that IMO of course.
You're glossing over this. Christ chose his apostles. How they became "priests" and how the orthodox church claims the lineage is a matter of faith. The church was a mess until nicea. And then doctrine was established by a very political body, hardly one that can be claimed led by the "holy spirit."

I could post specific verses to support all of them which are CLEAR!
Exodus 20:4:
“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
So were the cherubs on the ark graven images? They are an image of something in heaven above so by your heretical belief, they too were graven images and God's holy tabernacle was an abomination he himself ordered built, which makes no sense. It's stuff like this is why it seems no one here is taking your seriously. You get presented with counter arguments so you just restate the same point again.

Of course it's a matter of faith. Nicea was called because heresies were already at work and they wanted to iron them out. You can call it a political body which makes sense if you take it on faith that your secular sources are correct. Secular sources mostly hostile to christianity. Many great men of the faith were in attendance and tesfitied. People who studied under people who studied under the disciples, who studied under the apostles, who walked with Christ. Everything is taken on faith.

I have no idea what you mean by cherubs on the ark. Feel free to quote the passages.

I also don't care if you take me serious. You're just like other Americans who think they can be anything with a simple change. Oh look I can just get baptized and now I'm someone totally different. Oh look, I can easily be a man, a woman, a robot etc.
In fact you are the exact same person and just by the fact that you say you are "orthodox" makes no difference whatsoever other than babbling about it like a zealot.

Why can't you tell me how large your church is? Why can't you tell me how many orthodox people you know?
Of course you have no idea. You're repeating typical protestant criticisms of orthodoxy, not talking about anything new otherwise you'd be orthodox. Exodus 25-18

"Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. 20 The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them."

I spent a year as a catechumen before I was baptized. It wasn't a "simple change" as you describe it. The church is many miles from my home. I'm orthodox because it's NOT typical "i was saved" protestant ideology in some weird past tense like i'ts over and done with let's move on. No, it's a lifelong walk that demands a level of dedication most people don't want to make.

I don't owe you any information on my church or how many orthodox people I know. It's irrelevant to the conversation. Forgive me if that disappoints you.

If the Bible is the same for everyone I don't understand why you need to declare yourself as this or that or feel the need to be part of an organisation to do what's right. Not to mention brag about it.
Maybe it's just something I don't understand like some other things in the American culture.

Also that quote has no weight whatsoever for the simple reason it was commanded to be like that. A special artifact. Not to mention that the angels were not the point of the object like a person on an icon is. The Bible has some things which may seem contradictory until you apply common sense.
Saint Luke is the first iconographer so I'm sorry but you're scriptural arguments are just modernist christian interpretations. You are actually woke without even realizing it. And you baptized your daughter orthodox so at some point I reckon you'll come around.

If I come across as bragging, forgive me, I just want to share the good news of orthodoxy with others in the west. It's not about being part of an "organization" it's about the visible church of Christ, attending divine liturgy, doing confession, and receiving holy communion for me, so I guess you are talking maybe about what someone else might be seeking in it in terms of worldly things. I have always had a strong dislike for organizations but it's different for me there. It's about receiving mercy and forgiveness, and sharing that with others.

Okay, so what is the basis for this faith? That was the point of my question. Why do you believe the lineage was upheld in the way you do? Church tradition?
Historical record. Christianity started in the east.

Now I see it's not just this thread, but pretty-much all your posts.

That's 200 deletions. Never seen this before.
It's called people not having a backbone, and being too scared to post their true feelings under their "real" screename. It's past old and frankly, I am done with it. You wanna be inflammatory, you want cause shit and tuck tail and run? Don't be shocked when the light is shown into the shadows that they hide in.

but you already kinda follow it. :ROFLMAO:
After doing some reading at the church of Satan website. I guess I kind of do.
It wouldn't be much of a stretch for me to just go full satanist.

One of the biggest redpills in all this is that all people are not made the same. You will necessarily do what you are meant to do.
I can't argue with those words. You're very correct on that.

And I don't mean it in the sense that each person is a special individual. I'm sure you won't agree with this :ROFLMAO:
Nope I don't agree with that. I do think that every human is special and unique unto themselves.
I know one thing and that is that I try to live a good life and be a nice person to those around me. I don't do things to hurt anyone or interfere with other people's lives. I'm just a nerdy little peon in the vast universe and I just do my own thing and try to be happy with what I have and who I am.

Yeah ... I see how that could be

What would the light show, may I ask? That I deleted my posts? So what? It's my content. If it's against the site rules then do what's necessary. If it's not against site rules but against social rules, I accept being inconsiderate like Monkey Man put it.
There are users here posting the same two/three thread derailing posts every minute, every hour, every day. I tried to have a conversation here and as per usual they appeared. I don't want my posts among those posts. Do something about those guys or don't.

References for what, exactly? That the christian church was established in the east at pentecost 33 A.D?
That the Eastern Orthodox church was established at pentecost and that there is legitimate and evidenced lineage between that and what we have today. You're free to believe whatever you want regardless, but you might want to have this sort of info prepared to help "Share the good news of orthodoxy."
