Thanks brother. It really is awesome to share guitar playing, or playing music in general with family.

My dad still does this same Dorian alternate picked lick that he’s always done. He knows I hate it because it’s so pre cocked/pattern oriented haha. But now, if we get to jam and he does that lick (always LOL) we both just chuckle.

Dude, some unlikely things in common:

My kids don’t give a damn about guitar because it’s “something lame ol’ dad does.”

My son mysteriously is a huge Eagles fan. We live in the redneck south, college football is huge, but NFL isn’t nearly as prominent. Somehow he got hooked on the Eagles, and he even went to Philly last year @ 18.

Sometimes I wonder what tree he fell out of, but he’ll show where he comes from by doing some dumb thing I would do haha.

My kids don’t give a damn about guitar because it’s “something lame ol’ dad does.”

My son mysteriously is a huge Eagles fan. We live in the redneck south, college football is huge, but NFL isn’t nearly as prominent. Somehow he got hooked on the Eagles, and he even went to Philly last year @ 18.

Sometimes I wonder what tree he fell out of, but he’ll show where he comes from by doing some dumb thing I would do haha.

I still listen to that Slaughter cassette while working in the garage. Love the album cover. Up there with Ratt Invasion as one of my favs.
And the tunes! Reminds me of making out with my first real girlfriend. She smelled like Obsession perfume, Carmex and Juicy Fruit gum. I was in loooooove.

I'm waiting for him to post some Trixter and Britny Fox vids next.

My band opened for Trixter last year and as thr only one in the band in to hair metal, I had to tell my bandmates who they were.

Trixter was part of that wave right before hair metal got steamrolled with Grunge. As far as cassettes go, I played Ratt's "Out of the Cellar" until the song titles were rubbed off.

For sure. Great time to be a young person. All the cool girls loved all this hair metal. So although we make fun it today due to the cringe factor, it drove the girls nuts. Add Bartels & James to your list

For real. Every girl that found out I could play guitar wanted me to sing "More Than Words" or Bon Jovi or such stuff.
