You have such tasty tone going on. What are you running for tubes (pre/power)?

I've been trying to avoid it for a long time, but in thinking of trying out some vintage pres just for fun.

Once again, simply stellar tone...you really have that thing dialed in. I've played around with some Majors over the years and have yet to hear one sound that good. Are you plugging straight in? What guitar/pickups?

Yip, I was plugged straight in, no pedals.
I installed a PPIMV in the Major and "the one wire mod". That's where all the gain is coming from.
I was using a Ibanez Jem with a Dimarzio AT-1 in the bridge.

With those minor mods I assume it's still not cool to hit it with an overdrive pedal?

I think if you're looking for more character in your sound, I highly recommend some of Marty's NOS preamp tubes.
