Les Paul into a cranked Plexi stack,..........The sound of Rock & Roll. :2thumbsup:

N4 sounds the best. What does it have in the bridge again?

The Washburn has a BL 500xl in bridge right now but not long ago it had a DiMarzio tone zone in the bridge position.

I knew there was something familiar about the tone. The L-500XL is the clearest high output pickup i've ever used. It's probably my favorite passive pickup... it works so well with the amps I use.

KILLER TONE!!! How did you record that??? When you changed guitars, it almost sounded like you were running direct into something. Are you using a standard mic in front of the cab or some kind of cab emulation?? I would love to get my Marshall to sound like that on a recording and would appreciate info on how you did it.

Thanks!!!

OP , is that straight up with no pedals ?
Great classic tone , pure sound of RNR imho .

I totally agree, a very clear and articulate sound with this pu.
Always been one of my fav's.

1Mohm pot as usual?

Hey…sounds awesome. I really wish I had that rig. I have been looking at Friedman, Henric Hermannson and Landry. But, I just can’t justify the money. I have two Tremoverbs by Mesa Boogie, which are voiced differently than the other dual rectifiers and are not as dark. I am working with tube rolling and pedals in front to tighten up the loose bass and have gotten close to the plexi, but no cigar. For you though, it is just plug and play. Can you list in detail what the head and cabs are. For example what is the head exactly, model, year, tubes or anything that would be important. And for the cabs, what speakers and did you mod the cabs by sealing or anything. Also, I would really like to know in “detail” what the guitars are. I have a Jem 7V WH and have never seen your Jem. I would love to know what the Washburn is…a real Nuno or what? Anyway, they and the rig sound incredible and you certainly do it justice with your playing. Thanks Brother.

Thank you for the kind words.

I'm mic'd in front of the cab using a Shure SM57 with X2u USB Adapter plugged straight into my PC. From there the digital signal gets recorded with Adobe Audition cc.
After I take the raw recorded track and add some post reverb and that's it, done.

I record the video separately and mix the video track with the finished audio track with a program call "NCH software" Video Pad Editor.

I synchronize the two files together and bingo, finished.

Sweet! Thanks for the info! I have to get my act together on recording videos and stuff. This helps!

Word is you CAN'T use any boosts with a major, it could fry the amp. Seriously. So any of you that grab one and want some gain....au natural is the way to go! BTW sounds great
