This has the old school vibe pretty damn well! I'm interested.

What is the name of the album, Operation AI Crime?

Horrible on every level. Hard pass.
It's not AI.

Former Queensrÿche vocalist Geoff Tate has released "Power," the lead single from his upcoming album Operation: Mindcrime III, due May 3, 2026. Written with guitarist Kieran Robertson, the track explores the perspective of Dr. X, focusing on the manipulator rather than the victim in the iconic concept saga.

Your obviously not a fan of Queensryche in general I'm guessing as this song is closer in style and vibe to the original than anything they have done in years . Hopefully the rest stays true to this formula.

It's certainly not going to be as epic as the original , but I still think that if this is any indication of the rest of the album , then it will still be really good, but I'm also a big fan of Geoff Tate as a incredible vocalist as well as the band even though it's not the glory days of old even though many wish it was.

Huge fan of their older stuff, but to me, they haven't been the same since Chris DeGarmo left and especially since the split between Tate of the rest of the band. That was ugly.

Still, Tate remains an incredible vocalist and it's good to see him continuing. For me, it's too similar to the original and feels more like trying to milk a dead cow than trying to further the concept.

I gave the tune a chance and I wasn't digging it.

I liked most of it, but really hate him just fitting in "it's whatever the fuck I want it to be". I could've done without that.

Listened to it once and it did nothing. I was a huge of the original OP, listened to it so much the tape broke and had to get another copy. One of my favorite album from the 80s.

I'd have agree with this, song wasn't bad but that line is just stupid to me.

I saw Geoff last year and the show was really entertaining. Can can't hit all the notes like he used to but he hasn't been able to do that since about 1990.
Nevertheless the band was tight and the guitars were all spot on. He's coming back in May.

Man, the melody is just all over the place. It doesn’t have anything you can really follow, so you don’t find yourself hearing the lyrics and lucky you, because they’re terrible 😂.

I will still give it a listen when the album is released. I think the overall production sounds really close to the original in some ways.

When DeGarmo left there was a huge component to the writing process that went with him. Those early albums are great and my favorites, but I still check out anything new they put out a get a glimmer of what was once the glory of Queensryche.

Some stuff is better than others for sure.

Yep, there was an "Operation: Mindcrime II" around 2006 if my memory serves well.
I don't think that one was all that good from memory as I let that one go from the collection years ago.
