Thank you kindly Sir.

The guitar has a Bill Lawrence 500xl in the bridge and a DiMarzio Tone Zone in the neck.

Just got a package in the mail from valvestorm !

These guys are fast, great service !

Time for some tweakin tonight !

Can someone tell me which direction these Caps would go on my board? I am installing them in the phase inverter coupling cap position.

Not sure which side of the cap is positive or negative ?

I'd say they're just as good but to be fair I've never done a side by side comparison of the two.
Some may not agree with me.

Thanks Michael, Really digging this amp Now !

I't still a tad loose,any suggestions ?
Also has lots of hiss at full gain.

Still want to try the 330 in V1 cathode, could use a little more beef.

Sounding really good though, It sure brings out the different character in different guitars ! Really cool !

I will eventually post clips but at the moment my recording software is screwed do to the fact that I uploaded windows 10 and now nothing works.

We should at this point run all the Filter caps 50uF+50uF. I think your preamp filter is a 32uF+32uF which is not helping things.

You might want to try a 12AT7 in V1 if you're getting a lot of hiss, mine have always been pretty quiet so without have the amp in my hands it's hard to determine the source.
330uF in V1 is a good idea as well.
I look forward to hearing some clips.
I know what you mean by windows 10, it was a bitch to get my recording software to work in 10 but I eventually got it working.

Yes you are correct on the preamp filter. Could you point me in the right direction for the 50uf+50uf cap ? and will it fit on the board ?

Should I look at changing all the filter caps to 50+50 at this point ?

Thanks

Any online parts store will sell them, just match up what you have with the sellers picture for proper size.

I would like all the filtering to be 50uF+50uF but lets just change the preamp can for now.
I think we'll be good after this change.

I looked online for over an hour and can't find a 50uf+50uf cap that lays down with leads like mine.
All I see are cans with all the lugs on one side.

Do I need to do something different, like two caps in place of the one ?

Man, you're right, I can't seem to find any right now online as well.

No, you don't want to use something different, you want to use the right parts.

I'll keep searching around online and let you know if I find the proper cans with the right leads.

ValveStorm has the 50/50 caps that will work just fine, if that's the stiffness that you want.

No it was not cascaded when I got it. I wrote down all the values so I can always put it back if I want too. I doubt that will happen though because the amps sounds way better now !

I picked this amp up a couple years ago for this very purpose. I wanted A point to point amp I could tweak and try different circuits in as a learning experience.

I have heard Mark did some killer work but in my opinion this amp did not sound all that hot.
