A new Ceriatone amp in the works - Snorkel prototype demo

I saw that the other day. I'd be curious how that sounds and what experts on that amp thibk.

Really wish they’d do a 101B blue channel amp. I’d probably buy a single channel version of it, but a 2 channel would be cool

Vol 1 channel seems to have more gain than the Bogner. Overall I thought it sounded pretty damn good. Certainly wouldn’t say no to a 100 watt version. I think the gate the Bogner has is a nice touch but a gate can easily be added to any loop.

Doesn't sound super close the snorkler clips i've heard, but it also sounds like there's something odd going on with the micing

Doesn't sound bad either, just seems lacking the "juiciness" of most of the bogner snorkler clips i've heard

Never played a Snorkler....Actually sounds pretty good to me

What's the overall consensus on the Ceriatone's?

Been contemplating a molecular or chupa to build. This might be a better candidate for a different flavor.

Ah, well that certainly explains why I don't like it at all.
I think they use a WGS ET65 in a number of their clips. It's one of the most gawd awful sound speakers, especially if you put any decent volume through it.

Really, any WGS speaker is the last ones you should use if you want to show off how an amp sounds. Just use a V30 and SM57. Everyone knows that as a starting reference.

Could not possibly agree more. It's like a baseline that everyone understands, and has either owned or heard enough to where they can use it as a reference.

They're good amps, well built. Most of the circuits are just copies of other amps. Molecular is based on Cameron Atomica, I believe the Chupa is a Jose mod.

Yeah, they're built well. I think there's greater value in buying as a kit and building yourself, though. At least then you learn what's what.

The Chupa is a copy of a user-drawn schematic (with mistakes) of a blueprinted one-off Fortin/Gower Cali, which is in turn a copy of a Cameron Jose mod.
