I only have blues gear.
Not looking to buy a triple rec although I'd love one.

Sooo what pedal choices do i have going through fender type cleaner amps.

I got the heavy strings in drop C.
Got the wrist action and muting tight

Now need the dirt

One of the Fortin pedals would do the trick.
Heck, there’s so many pedals on the market dedicated to the modern metal tone!
The Jeff Loomis signature pedal.
Ola’s “Chug” pedal
Just to name two.

Shockingly I found the Danelectro Cool Cat II V1 through fender twin was fucking awesome af
Cool cat v2 sucked
Get v 1 . $50

Isn’t the Cool Cat a chorus pedal?. I had one in the 90’s.

For OP…agree with preamp pedal or amp in a box pedal. What heavy sounds do you like that you’re gravitating towards? Mid forward, scooped, boom and sizzle, fuzzstortion…etc.

he probably meant the fab tone distortion, which yes, the v1 did sound good

@70 Mach 1 it depends, the easiest way to get started would probably be an Ola chug pedal, or another amp in a box style pedal that's meant to be played in front instead of in the loop

I would say the KSR stuff like the vesta is great, if you want marshall flavored heavy stuff the Lawrence Petross Eighty 7 is best in class

The cool cat is a series of pedals

It’s a cool cat
I forgot the word distortion

Cant go wrong with a RAT..... I have a FATRAT. If you already have OD laying around not a bad choice.

RAT 2s go for 80-90 bucks new or you can get a FATRAT for 180$ new or get a good price on a used one.

Lil RATs are like 90 bucks and maybe check out a Turbo RAT too, they are more compressed and offer more gain from memory from my recollection. Love my FATRAT to make clean amps like Fenders go to mean and bring some heavy dirt especially when goosed with a decent OD.

A Rat?!
He wants to chug, not fart. Might as well suggested him a DiMarzio Very Metal... 😑

I'll second @DanTravis62 comments and add the Friedman BE-OD Deluxe as a 2 channel hotrodded Marshall option. Just make sure you run the Tight control high.

Fine choice: - Evh 5150 stomp

Good choice: - Friedman BeOd + Eq or a Ts9
- Soldano stomp

Great choice: Amptweaker Tight metal

I swear thought, these preamp pedals new end up being close to the cost of a 5150III second hand.

Check out the Diezel VH4 or Herbert pedals. You could also look at Crab, Victory and Driftwood preamps. I used to love the now defunct Damage Control Solid Metal. A Zoom Tri Metal can also be had cheaply.

there is only one ............

Not sure what sound im after because im not familiar with metal or players.

I like the heavier basey tone thats not to buzz sawish. Some of it has to much fuzz

Over the weekend I'll post some vids of stuff i like to try and yall can figure it out from there
