Airight. This old blues fart wants to start chugging. Problem is.....

You are going to chugg for about 10 minutes, then never use the pedal again.

Been there, done that.
I’m like that with down-tuning a guitar. I like C# standard on recordings but every time I setup a guitar for that it doesn’t satisfy in person. Too soft, not punchy enough. I recently set up a guitar once again and even a bass, because I can’t help myself, thinking, let me record with it and I haven’t touched either since I did 🤗

The Fortin NATAS is by far the best preamp/distortion pedal I’ve tried. It’s tight, versatile and absolutely vicious.
Chugs like a jackhammer and slams the front of the amp hard. Expensive but worth it.
The Griff Tone Ripper is also killer. Based on the Friedman BEOD but all around much better.
I’ve got one I’m not using, hhm if interested.

You didn't master your pentatonic majors. No wonder you are bored with the same old minor stuff. All the blues gold lies inside the mixing of major and minor.
i have a lot of tricks up my sleeve
this is why youre afraid to invite me TX

but i want to chug and get some real respect when im at GC

Ok.

Gear is a cheap substitute for building chops by intense study. Just admit you are bored with pentatonic minor. Been there, done that.

Maybe I should start giving blues lessons but teaching people is a waste of time IME. I hate wasting time. I suppose I could start a thread showing some concepts I've put together, but it would likely go unappreciated since no one here really gives a shit about blues, so that'd be more wasting time.

He needs to say six hail Mary’s and four, You Shook Me All Night Long solos

Not sure what sound im after because im not familiar with metal or players.

I like the heavier basey tone thats not to buzz sawish. Some of it has to much fuzz

Over the weekend I'll post some vids of stuff i like to try and yall can figure it out from there
It sounds like you are going for a more amp like high gain tone. Maybe look at the Soldano SLO pedal, or a Mesa based amp in a box type pedal.

I have the SLO pedal, and it has sounded great through every amp I played it through.

A Rat?!
He wants to chug, not fart. Might as well suggested him a DiMarzio Very Metal... 😑

I'll second @DanTravis62 comments and add the Friedman BE-OD Deluxe as a 2 channel hotrodded Marshall option. Just make sure you run the Tight control high.
RATs ain't bad but yeah second the Amptweaker and Friedman options too.

In my Fender I found that a preamp into the fx loop worked better than dirt boxes out in front. The new options may be better though.

If I were to do it again I'd do a tonex into the fx loop and get something like the Boss Line Selector so you could still have your normal amp and tonestack when you want.

Another vote for Ola’s Chug pedal, it’s the best most amp-like modern high gain pedal I’ve heard.

Alternate suggestions would be the Friedman BE-OD and MXR 5150.

I only have blues gear.
Not looking to buy a triple rec although I'd love one.

Sooo what pedal choices do i have going through fender type cleaner amps.

I got the heavy strings in drop C.
Got the wrist action and muting tight

Now need the dirt
Turn treble and bass all the way up, and scoop mids. Medium to high gain, bridge humbucker. Lots of palm muting. Ditch the reverb, use slap back delay.
Happy 4th and happy chugging. Don’t blow your fingers off. Tomorrow will be the last day for many hands and fingers.

So many great pedals to cover the chugs.
Depends on how you want to go about it.

This is a good one for straight in. I'm playing this in the lower gain setting. It's fully capable of super heavy modern riffage.

I tried the BE OD and it sounded very flat to me, even with the eq. Lots of gain, and you can tweak the sound, but it just sounded like an SD1 with a few eq knobs. The Keely AT super mod sounded like a hifi pedal compared to the BE OD. I am not an EE so I can't tell you what the difference is, but I'm guessing it is the clipping type.

I would really like to try the @griff10672 Griffin Analog III pedal. I need to chill on the gear spending for a bit

If only you had an amp thay could do pure cleans, pushed blues, classic rock, and ripping metal.....

A Rivera Clubster Royale Recording popped up used for sale at GC! Lol

Also, running distortion pedals from Griffin Analog into a clean can get you there with what you already have Im sure, as I can be spanky clean and get straight to ripping with a pedal or two.
