Pre 2009 Splawns without the loop volume

You can't give these away for $1000 it seems. Everyone wants the loop volume. Sucks, because if you don't need to play at low volumes the older ones are great gigging amps.

I think I've seen some ENGL's sell for like 50% of their new value. Also, same for Soldano SLO's. Sometimes amps are just too expensive to begin with.

Buy them cheap and have the loop volume added.

Like someone else said, it is 99% related to supply and demand and 1% related to internet forum bullshit.

Any amp will be worth less as more of the same type are produced and are available to the general buying public. Some guys refuse to accept this for whatever reason but it is true for any amp company.

Amps with crap re-sale are what ever I'm trying to sell at any given moment!  and when I'm trying to buy suddenly they hold value

I have noticed over time that a lot of big name amps have terrible re-sale values. Two in particular... Wizard and Diezel. These are both great amp companies, but seem to have trouble fetching 60-70% of their cost back?

Opinions, thoughts?

I think it's because they are too expensive to begin with and you can get one practically anywhere if you really want one, no?

No amp on earth is worth what you pay for a Diezel ($4600...) I played a Wizard once and thought it was pretty killer old school sounding but ya the prices are nutz too...

This plus the bi-polar gear whoreage and fiendage the goes around will bring prices down on the used market for high dolloar stuff. Demand is a factor too...

A bird in the bush is better than.........ugh

Having an amp at whatever cost is better than waiting in line playing air guitar. Two lines now though.

Just sayin

I can definitely see some of the early adopters getting impatient and selling their place in line.

we'll probably see places in line for sale in the "new line" eventually since they're still picking out parts in a catalog, maybe it's mad magazine?

...at least "spot in line" prices have come down. It's a veritable steal at $1k compared to the old price of $3k.

I'm in....

enjoy your new air

I already got the tracking for my custom Cameron die-cast chopper.

I think framus has the worst resale value. A dragon that goes for 3,600 new, and I got one for 500$ practically brand new.

You learn this in Business 100, Enzo is just re-hashing common business principals.

Plus it has been far easier to buy a Ferrari than a CCV till now

oh yeah, just to stir the pot a tad................

There is ONE cameron mod out there that imo is worth the going price, been out of circulation for years with few owners and that amp rips.

Only one I would buy.

Bye :D
What kind of Cameron mod is that? Just curious. Aldrich, Jose, ??

YOu know which one, you have played it..............shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :D

Can I rub it right now?

I was so glad when I was at Egnater we adopted this principle...

Henry Ford made a black Model T. That's it. I am pretty sure he was successful. Whatever you do with it after you buy it is your business.

It was in your house years ago when I was there.

Here's mine: if I choose an amp to buy, shop/look for 3-4 weeks, buy the cheapest one I can find (ebay, craigs, Rig-Talk, etc., never new) - the VERY NEXT DAY - I see one cheaper, followed by buches available, all cheaper.. That covers lots of amps over the years. Is this just my investment program (buy high, sell low)' or anyone else follow this brilliant strategy? I am fine with paying some cash for the opportunity to have a cool piece for awhile, though.

Any new amp outside of Cameron stuff will lose value as soon as you buy it. If you are buying an amp as an investment, buy mine!! Just kidding. If you are not sure of your tone yet or are the type of player that likes to change it up often, buy used. Once you are sure of what you like, then buying new makes more sense. I would love a new Marsha or Cameron, but I cannot justify spending $3-4K on one amp just yet. I got $3200 in 2 Friedman Marshalls; for a gigging part time player, that makes more sense.

Where was I? You mean Danyeos, right? I think my other Cameron Marshall can hang with my Ocean. Its similar yet different. Basically a ccv in a Marshall.
