Frank's tone is totally different and he is doing way more interesting runs on bass... and Charlie's drums sound super flat and dull to me. Didnt really sound like Anthrax til the mosh part and Frank's bass went back to the classic piano tone... with that said, I wish Dan Lilker was in the band... He has that heaviness they need in my opinion. And I agree with @sytharnia1560 , I never got into Joey as singer... Overall though, I think I prefer this to the new Exodus lol

the riffs are cool, but the song dosent flow very well. the bust should have came after the solo. Overall its better than i was expecting, and better than most of the recent stuff from the other legacy metal bands

I remember I was afraid to check the mail when I first heard of anthrax. ✉️🦠

Mediocre at best. Should’ve known better than to get my hopes up. 3/10

Why did they redo the Madhouse video ? And why is the guy from Pantera playing drums with them?

Kinda meh song and their sound is not as tight as it used to be. They may wanna give Overkill's "White Devil Armory" a good listen for modern East Coast thrash productions that remain hella tight.

Anthrax seems to be trapped in some kind of "heavy verses, poppy choruses" mode for a long time now. Though I do think Joey's voice has aged very gracefully. He sounds good IMO.

The tune is decent...But I do not do too well with Joey. Anyone who has a side gig covering Steve Perry can definitely sing. That said, His phrasing and and general vocal style just doesn't really work for men in the context of metal, never really has. It bothered me a bid as a kid on early Anthrax records as well, but the riffs and songwriting were strong enough to overcome it.

Not bad really given what their peers put out. I mean this kills anything Def Leppard has put out recently for example.. I agree they are missing Spitz but this is solid for me regardless.

i love joey, and prefer john bush in armored saint

As far as the song, it's not amazing but it's decent

More of a fan of the song than the production, that guitar tone is blegh

The video is just them redoing madhouse? Which is what I thought this was at first

All in all 6.5/10 not terrible, and certainly a ton better than the metallica 52803758748273 seasons stuff

As far as big four bands releasing new music this is a whole lot better than most, but still now anywhere near as cool as among the living or persistence of time
