Anyone else use a guitar-->amp-->cab rig?

90% of the time when i play its just my amp-cab-guitar and at most a clean boost.

I once used an Orange Rockerverb. It wasn't that great of an experience. I thought it would be head and shoulders better than my Fender Hot Rod Deville. The dirt was better, but the cleans were not. The dirt I got from stacking my MXR Distortion + and my Boss Blues Driver sounded comparable. Then again, I didn't get to play with it for that long. Maybe an hour or so.

It was definitely an artsy looking amplifier though.

Pretty much straight in for me and kick on a phaser, univibe or something for a part or a solo. Although, I am considering putting a delay in the loop to fatten things up a little. I never used one before so we'll see how that goes.

Guitar,cable,amp,cab....a clean setting and a crunch rhythm setting and a volume boost for solo's. a bit of chorus and delay via an old Alesis Quadraverb...Cover band that plays everything from AC/DC to ZZ Top....All I've ever needed. Oh...sometimes I use a wireless

I am 39 now. I am remember when I was in junior high school, Satch and Vai were interviewed in Guitar World and asked about their rigs and mentioned that they had these simple, straight forward rigs. I laughed, even then They went on to detail these giant racks and all I had was a shitty ass gorilla practice amp, hoping one day to score that shitty ass Roland JC 77 (which I got for my birthday.) I mean the Roland was a great clean amp, but damn the distortion was in the Gorilla's league. What did I know back then? There was no internet, no forums, no one to ask, no mp3s to steal, no youtube, no real frame of reference. I had no idea what a modded Marshall was, or anything of the sort. I only knew that the Roland didn't sound like EVH and I was pissed

I NEED delay behind me in a solo, and a boost pedal. I only play bars, so no sound guy usually. Other than that, don't really use effects.

other pedals include tuner, phase 90, flanger... nothing major

Guitar --> Pedalboard --> Amp --> Pedalboard --> Amp --> Cabs

I love looking at rig pics.. Why isnt there a stickied thread of pictures of peoples rigs... Car forums have stickied threads of car pics...?

Me, 90% of the time...recently bought my first effect pedal in more than 20 years (a TC Flashback). I'm actually going to build a small pedal board for a cover thing, though, so that's going to change a little....

The reason I like the amps I do is the feel/response and tone...if I didn't, I suppose I'd use more effects
