Anyone ever deal with LRC Guitars out of Orlando??

Thank you VonBonfire. There actually is a shop in St. Pete, with a good reputation, Seven C Music. When this adventure started for me (first guitar), I went to him first. Seven C doesn't take your guitar and keep it for months. They work on a wait list. Seven C is very much in demand around here. After being on his wait list for almost a year, I gave up and went to LRC.
Right on bro. Feel free to reach out if you ever need. Wish I was in St. Pete for a few months this year. Miss my family, my friends, and the beach too. Maybe one day in the future. Texas has proven to be a greener pasture for this bluesman. Heading out in about an hour for some evening work. Have a great weekend!

So you guys are local and still getting fucked around?????????????????? So they cannot even keep track of guitars that are finished to contact the owners that they are done????? WTF!

Did all of you pay up front? Is that what they require? I suspect that is the entire problem here. Since they get paid up front they have no incentive to follow up with the owners to get their guitars back and it seems they aren't keeping track of what got done and so forth.

None of this is cool.

Yeah i suspect this is the problem as well. I pay most of my rent with guitar and amp repairs.

I always am upfront with people about what it's going to cost - both in my time, and in parts, and in the time it's going to take for me to get the parts, if I already have them, etc. That's not just what appears on the invoice. You need to clearly communicate "Hey so this is a realistic timetable and price for what you want done." Then you come to an agreement.

And then you ask for payment when the work is done. That's how it's done. You trust me with your property, I trust you to come pick it up and pay for the work. Easy.

Asking for payment upfront is just begging for problems. I know it's really tempting when you have a reputation for good work like LRC does (did?) but payment on completion/receipt is the standard for a reason.

Guys just wanted to give everybody a heads up. Our good buddy @SMCLEARY is emailing the guys over at LRC with the contents of this thread and who is grieving what with the shop. Of course this is an open board and you shouldn’t expect any privacy here with your posts. Just wanted to give a heads up to anybody still awaiting a resolution.

VonBonfire! So, you are a "Pro?" As a "Joe," I appreciate your interest in all of this. But let's be practical. For both Seven C and LRC, as a gigging musician, you would likely get top priority from either Seven C or LRC.
Tbh the last time I dealt with a luthier I had to text him twice and then he took another day to get back to me so my amp tech did the pickup swap instead and I found a different luthier closer to home with a great rep through another local player who I trust. I wouldn't be interested in working with someone who might be shelving another guy's work just cause the customer has no local rep. I got two gigging guitars and two gigging amps and ain't got time to play grabass maintenance.

As for if I am a pro, well, in the $ sense probably not since 2017-2018 but it weren't a king's ransom then either. I do fewer gigs but they pay many times more than the 6th street hustle on a per gig basis. I guess so far this year is looking to be a semi pro year but most of what I am doing is some pro level gigs if that makes sense.

I am a new member here, just found the forum. I live in Lake Mary, right down the street from LRC. I am a 1st time customer, and dropped off my bass on March 20th.....the ETA was on 4/22...I emailed on 4/24 for status....I got the automatic reply. When I dropped off the bass RJ explained to me the way they work, I understood. I paid that same day and off I went. I am under no illusions that I will see my bass for another 2-3 months based on my auto reply....now reading this forum, maybe I should expect 5-6 months...IDK. I used to take my gear to The Guitar Factory, they retired a couple years ago...LRC is the real deal, I have been inside the shop, they are pros, and I was so happy they are 10 minute drive from my house. I will update this thread with my experience.....I dropped off a 1993 MM Sterling fretless, unlined for a radius job, new tuners, cracked nut, set up....so not an easy fix, and RJ said a radius job is "labor of love"...so I am loaded with patience and hope:)
