How do you like it so far? The Wizard stuff has some power that's for sure. Rick put a power boost in mine, so it really gets loud when needed to go beyond 11.....which is never.

the power tubes used really don't influence the tone as much as people would like to believe.
Get a Marshally preamp, and plug it into the fx return of any decent serial fx loop on a decent head.
Some ideas:
Marshall JMP-1
Egnater IE-4
ADA MP-1
VHT GP3
Engl 530
etc.

Not that I'm really experienced at this (but that's never stopped me from giving my opinion before) what about a used DSL then a FJA or Voodoo mod? Should be price-friendly.
