I`m seeing a lot of love for the Cusack Screamer and I`m guessing it`s in the Tube Screamer family k? I use my ODs as a clean boos with the volume up and rarely add any gain from the pedal. Does the Cusack tighten up the bass and add a little saturation when used as a clean boost?
It sure does. The added toggle for clipping works great and allows you to use even less from the pedal. Very quiet pedal. I run mine with the level at half and gain at 25% or even less with the toggle in the right position. It adds clarity and the mids are not harsh at all. I have had many and this one is my favorite bar none. I recommended it to another member and he loved it.
my cusack screamer v2 finally arrived today, I will try it out shortly, cant wait!! what position do you guys use the toggle in? why in that position?
I use mine mostly in the left position. All three are useful though. I think left is like the original Screamer(symmetrical smoother clipping)middle is asymmetrical and right is same as left but less brightness called crushed. I could be wrong
thanks for the tips Gary, and for telling me about the v2 to begin with. I was really bummed when my original cusack screamer died, thought I was going to have to do the OD hunt trying out all sorts of pedals. so, the v2 is awesome, and I kept going back to the left toggle position. great pedal, I am happy with it. it acts like my original, tightens up the bass some, and gives it that added bit of touch sensitivity without getting too noisy or changing the tone at all.
