What do you mean admitted he was wrong?
Do you mean he said he was wrong that he called "undocumented immigrants" illegal? because undocumented migrants are illegal. He can't just say they're not illegal because I'm letting them in because the law hasn't changed.
What has happened to the rule of law over there.
There is just a lot of grey area. “Illegal” implies something criminal, and it’s not criminal to come in to our country. It also implies , to me at least, that it can’t be changed. The only difference between an “illegal” immigrant and a “legal” one is some paperwork. Documents if you will.
I mean I’m not saying they should not complete the paperwork, it’s of course important, but that is something our country has to do better at making sure happens.
But that is what makes the divide. People who think immigration is harmful use “illegal” because of it’s connotations, and people who think immigration is important tend to use undocumented because of its lack of connotations.
America is far from perfect, but immigration is in our DNA. I think it would be wrong to stop it, we just happen to be in a time where it’s getting away from us.
