It is hard to determine which is better, but like other's have stated the body wood is only part of the equation. There are so many others like neck type (bolt, set, neck-thru), neck wood (mahogany, maple, RW) and types of neck grains like maple quartersawn, etc., pickups, bridge (Floyd, TOM, etc) I would just find a great quality guitar that plays well and sounds good plucked into a decent amp. Then there is the amp too so that also makes a difference. Do not obsess about it or it will drive you nuts.
