Bogner xtc 101b or axe fx

Ive heard the Fractals have bugs etc,,,complicated????

Get the amp. In 10+ years the amp will still be a classic and serviceable by any decent tech. In 10 years the AxeFX will be antiquated and almost impossible to fix

are you talking from actual experience? your tone suggests not.

Having owned the XTC as well as the Uber and SHiva and my experience repairing electronics including amps, I say it is my experience. As for you comments regarding my tone, I assume you don't agree with me and are not capable of an adult conversation.

I'd go for the Bogner. The reason being I was gonna buy an Axe FX a few months ago for various reasons, mainly that I can't get anything below "low" volume out of my tube rig here aswell as living in a city with no car, so hauling my head and 4x12 around is a bit of a nightmare. I was also very into the idea of all those tones in one box. However, considering I would have had to sell my Diezel/Bogner combo in order to finance it, I couldn't face offing a tube rig I love for a piece of technology that will almost certainly depreciate, and no doubt eventually become outdated and bettered. Sinking that much cash into something that's gonna be worth nothing wasn't worth it to me. If you can afford to own one aswell the Bogner down the line then I would definitely get one as I still really want one.

I totally SUCK at programming any kind of preamp. JMP-1, Hafler triple giant, Piranha , Prophecy's, POD, are all preamps I've owned in the past, and I can get a few decent tones of them, but I get lost in the pre, post, and whatever other EQ's, and the different aspects of the FX etc. I'm sure the Axe-FX is a great preamp but there's a reason I've got an XTC on the way, It's about as complex as my simple mind can handle!!!

I am not a tweaker, I always mock around for maybe 5-10 minutes and I am off playing.

I am the guy with good gear and so-so tone I guess people rag about

With amps I'm the same way, I have no problems with the Mk IVs, XTCs, or VHT's that I've owned, but everytime I get a preamp, I'll make an adjustment, then I'll end up trying something different in one of the other eq formats, and realizing I used the wrong one of the 3-4 EQ's, then try to find which works. THEN finding which FX, and what level, then.... it's always something. It's not the unit, it's my simple head that can't wrap around it, and don't even get me started about MIDI stuff... That's why I personally stick with amps.

I think it was released in patch 7.6.5.4. It also has the Bogner blanket-over-the-speakers control so you can adjust how muffled the sound is.
