Hmmm, let's see. Somebody works real hard, putting time and effort, "blood, sweat and tears" to accomplish something difficult, and do something of value; then someone expects that person who worked for it to just give it away to anyone who asks, whenever asked, like its no big deal. (Not directed at Sebby or JP1stF)

Nice to see your socialist views in a music thread Sean. Even calling on God (in vain, but its a start)/

Attention Everyone! You should just give away everything you've worked hard for, so those who don't or won't can share in the benefits of your labours! Thus Speaketh, Cloudnine!

Whaddya say Sean? Assuming you have a job; How about you take your next paycheck, that you worked for, and pick someone on this forum and send them the money you earned? Why not? Doesn't someone who didn't work for it deserve it?!

sean may be a socialist douchebag, but your post is just stupid. sending someone your hard earned money that can only be spent once is totally the same as sharing your interpretation of someone else's song. :m9:

I'm gonna preface this by once again saying I think this whole thing is no big deal at all....

I totally get what your saying, but...
No, I don't think you do.

Shebby never asked for my transcription, and he actually said in the beginning he was going to transcribe it. He just asked if there was a book, so i though i should tell him there is not and that i already started transcribing it.
No that isn't what happened. Shebby asked for a tab book and that was it. He did not say he was going to attempt transcribe the CD until after your first response saying you had transcribed portions of the CD but did not want to share them. Once again, there was no reason to tell him you had transcriptions if you weren't going to share them. That is my only point... albeit a minor one...

If you had offered your transcriptions to Shebby in your first post do you think he would have taken them? Of course he would have, regardless of whether an "official" tab book exists or not. If he had been intending to transcribe the CD in the first place as you seem to be implying in your response here, why would he be asking for a tab book?

Its just other people that made some OVER-THE-TOP comments. I meant no harm in my post and i dont see the big deal. Its other people who have a problem with it or misunderstood it.
I totally agree with you there...

I have people I teach try to figure things out by ear whenever possible. Learning by ear takes longer, but you're less likely to forget it.
Borrowing some riffs is cool, but only if you apply them to your own style.
Tab books produce uncreative clones that seek anonymous praise on YouTube.

Wow! i might have to steal that quote from you! very inspiring!
If you attribute the quote it's actually about 2500 thousand years old and came from Lao Tzu.

Yes, Lao Tzu the founder of taoism is the author.
I'm terribly sorry for omitting that initially. I didn't mean to come across as the author, I'm not that clever a writer.
I logged on to correct it, but Ed beat me to it.
I still think it is an appropriate saying.

Dude, it is very applicable, I also thought any one would know the origins of it.

Yeah...at 17 yrs old I'm guessing there's still a couple of things left that you've never heard or figured out. Can you identify this ancient artifact ?
