I made a quick video of the Cameron Hot Mod he made for me close to 10 years ago. As you can see see and hear, it’s pretty incredible. This is being recorded with a simple iPhone.

This device is expected to come to market in the next few months and its reception will be well received. Where else can you tame a 100 watt Marshall and still retain its core tone?

Keep in mind I’m playing at TV volume and not adjusting any tone knobs on the amp. I’m using the max clipping setting, but there are two clipping settings for those that just want a little saturation.

Here is a clip I made with the Cameron Hot Mod with my 1980 JMP with 6550’s and a VFE Standout out front. I plan on making another clip in the same vein as the plexi.

Both of those clips sound wicked pissah ked ! But, do you own a 3 single coil strat to demo the Centaura again ?

Sounds great. Hmm wonder if he's converting the CF to 2 gain stages.

Thanks Dave ! Sounds good !

One thing to note, there are two clipping settings, I’m using max clipping in all videos.

how does it react to your 2203 with 6550s?

I posted a clip of the 2203 (with 6550’s) in the original post. It’s the second video.

Sounds great! Now we need a design for the PI slot that adds an FX loop. :D

Very cool. I love a modded Plexi tone

It’s not what I consider a modded tone. It’s not adding a gain stage, it’s a simple master volume that can add clipping to sound like it’s cranked on 10. I prefer it to any PPIV master since al of the tone controls work perfectly. Granted it won’t sound 100% like a cranked Marshall since you do miss some of the power tube compression as well as speaker compression.

In the event anyone wants to know, apparently COVID and supply chains is the reason it isn't out by now. Also looks like it is diode clipping vs the legendary tones V2 which is tube based. Naturally the diodes are gonna sound tighter and grindier. Both likely have a place depending on your tastes.

Just wanted to give everyone an update, these would have been already out on the market but first due to Covid, the manufacturer that was making the cases which are "high quality" was unable to work on our stuff (they are here in the Bay Area no Wuhan) till and recently and just when we were about to finish the prototypes we as in our shop/place got evacuated due to the fires. We hope to be back this week and have an announcement in the next month.

Is that suppose to sound good ?
Is that a ground wire going to V-1 ?
Looks like a good way to get a 300+vdc sandwich.
