Ooops, I meant to type "I think he (Mark) was always using a Greenback cab."

+1 on the G12-65. I've wanted to try thses out for some time now; but since Ive tried that EVH cab with the Heritage GB's, I really want to just X them up in my BX cab and be done with it.

Another speaker combination to think about is the V30 and G12-65 mix in an X pattern. "treetopper" (Todd Duane) on youtube uses this for his Elmwood and Soldano clips. Sounds nice. I'm thinking of doing this in my JCM 800 4212 (2205 in a 2x12 combo) Right now there are some nicely broken in G12-75's from '88 in there that sound GREAT for soloing but "ehh" for riffing.

Did someone say Cameron Marshall

You're missing a Jose though. :scared:

The time is now for you to hand it over !

You know it will be mine one day soon anyway   :D

I sold my Greenback loaded Marshall cab because I had a great deal on a 412 Savage cab. Jason, I think you were interested in it when I was looking to sell it a few months ago. I really like the Greenbacks. One of these days I will need to get a cab with them again.

Jason, did you notice anything different in the mids when you switched from EL-34L's to the SED's? What specifically do you like about the SED's over the 34L's?

I also switched from 34L's to SED's in my Aldrich. I would say the mids are sweeter, and the high end is more musical with the SEDs. With the 34L's they had a certain sound in the treble i really disliked.. it was harsh sounding. So the SED's solved that problem. The bottom end is deeper sounding in the 34L's, but it was a bit mushy sounding too IMO.. whereas the bottom end is tighter with the SEDs.

Mark Cameron recommended i use SED's and told me he hates the E34L's in his modded amps, bad tone and unreliable. That was enough for me to make the switch without even thinking about it, i trust Mark's word.

This pretty much sums up my experience too. Night and day different.

I need to try the SED's, but I have KT-77's in my Aldrich and I think they sound smokin'

Where do you get SED's? Is it the same as asking for the winged C tubes?

I think i remember Ralph saying Mark has cabs with the celestion 65 watters, which sound greenback-ish.. Maybe those are what he voices the amps around!

I would love to get a quad of 65's but theyre damn expensive!

the cabs he'll be selling for the new amp line are going to be loaded with H30's.

no idea what he used for modding?

H30's or H30/CL80 X pattern acually.

Heard DanHops smoking Cameron through Dave's vintage GB cab and it just killed, can't say anything bad about a GB cab for sure.

God I can't believe I typed vintage and killed in the same post

I gots a rep to keep

My recent Marshall came with El34L"s, and I only played a couple shows with it before I switched to SED's, because these are the tubes I have used for years. I didn't really get enough time before the switch to take notice of the differences. The high end is definitely smoother, and I don't miss the low end difference. I am curious to put them back in to compare the mids. I would if I new how to bias an amp. Need to learn that. What do I need to make that happen?

Get a Weber Bias Rite. Very simple to use. If I can do it, anybody can.
