When we ran sound for them a few times in the mid 90's he was using a pair of Peavey Classic heads. 100 watters I believe. Great live band. Pick up their "Alive in Seattle" DVD if you get a chance.
Some good shows at the Edge back in the day, you can see his Recto heads here....
I saw them get booed off stage in 94 at Shoreline opening for Metallica but that was because people were pissed that Alice in Chains cancelled but Layne freaked out after Kurt died.
You sure that wasn't 96 or 97? I saw them open for Metallica then, along with Suicidal Tendencies (Who promptly set a new record for how much a band can suck live) and it was supposed to have been Alice in Chains instead but Layne was in rehab or something. Did they do it twice?

100% Sure it was 94 because the tour was supporting Metallica's Binge and Purge box set and Alice had just released Jar of Flies so this tour was suppose to support that album. Also Hetfield had a mullet and the rest of Metallica still had long hair except for Jason. I also saw Suicidal open for Metallica on that tour and they actually were pretty good.

For the 1st album...it was a VTM and Marshall Mosfet 100. He actually answered the question on some forum...maybe you can dig it up on google. Plus in the old guitar mags...that's what he said as well.
His touring rig was different on that tour...Boogie's and Peavey Classic...his rig was featured in an old Peavey Forum magazine years back.
