Bump!!

I know this thread is kind of old, but I was listening to Core this week, and it made me think of reading this last year.

I am a Chorus fanatic also, and own tons of them. I agree with the comment above where I have bought many analog pedals (CE-2 or Small Stone based) trying to get different sounds. They do what they do great, but they seem to miss that late 80s / early 90s Chorus that is just kind of preset without movement, yet not just a pitch detune. I also have the Digitech Luxe, and TC Electronic Third Dimension, which are "motionless" choruses.

Anyways, I picked up a Digitech Hardwire CR-7 last year for the hell of it. It has really surprised me, and really has become my favorite Chorus pedal! The Multi setting is an 8 voice Chorus, which does this "Core" type of Chorus better than any other pedal I have heard. The chorus that is just kind of there sitting on the tone, but not much movement. Just thickness. It has really opened my eyes, and even changed the way I approach my Axe-FX and G Major in terms of dialing in more voices and not trying to always emulate the analog BBD settings. Bonus is that the analog and vintage settings do that underwater Come As You Are type thing, and Boutique has a bit of that Flangey Electric Mistress type chorus sound. It really is a great pedal, and makes me think about grabbing other Digitech Chorus pedals they have made through the years. It is funny though, like said above, is always looking for the analog pedals, when the most digital solution there is, is what works, lol!
